About Advocates for Recovery Colorado
Advocates for Recovery Colorado (AFRC) is a peer‑led, peer‑run statewide Recovery Community Organization that provides no‑cost peer and family recovery support services across Colorado, including peer recovery coaching, inclusive recovery meetings, and social support activities.
Founded as a grassroots recovery organization and licensed by the Colorado Behavioral Health Administration as a Recovery Support Services Organization (RSSO), AFRC focuses on advocacy, stigma reduction, and expanding equitable access to recovery resources in urban and rural communities.

First peer‑led RCO in Colorado & licensed RSSO
Established as an authentic peer‑run Recovery Community Organization and recognized/licensed by the Colorado Behavioral Health Administration to deliver Recovery Support Services.
Large community impact via Rally for Recovery
AFRC’s Rally for Recovery is a major annual public celebration and advocacy event; the 2023 Denver rally drew an estimated ~3,000 attendees and the Walk for Recovery that year saw roughly 500 participants, demonstrating broad community reach.
