About South Park Rail Society
The South Park Rail Society is a Colorado-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit formed to develop an interactive railway museum by preserving and restoring the historic Como roundhouse, depot, yard, track and rolling stock tied to the Denver, South Park & Pacific/Colorado & Southern lines.
An all-volunteer organization, the Society manages the Como Project (roundhouse, depot, hotel, water tower and track), is rebuilding steam locomotive Klondike Kate #4, and operates volunteer/open-house days that allow the public to experience an historic narrow-gauge railroad facility.
In recent years the organization has advanced restoration work, run regular volunteer and engine-crew work days, run fundraising campaigns to secure the Como site, and earned nonprofit transparency recognition to support continued public and grant funding.
