About High Line Canal Conservancy
The High Line Canal Conservancy is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit that leads region-wide efforts to permanently protect, steward, and enhance the 71-mile High Line Canal corridor serving the Denver metro area.
The Conservancy works through partnerships with Denver Water and the multiple jurisdictions along the Canal to advance trail improvements, ecological restoration, community-driven planning, and long‑term funding mechanisms to ensure public access and environmental benefits for future generations.
In recent years the organization has focused on implementing the Community Vision Plan, advancing trail and stormwater projects, and expanding community engagement and stewardship programs across high-priority reaches of the Canal.
Notable achievements
GOCO grant for northeast Canal improvements
Secured a multi‑million dollar grant to fund planning and improvements across 28 miles in the Canal's northeast reach, enabling a major investment in access, restoration, and trail upgrades.
Regional Vision & partnership building
Led development and community adoption of a Community Vision Plan for the 71-mile Canal and established formal partnerships with Denver Water and multiple jurisdictions to coordinate long-term protection and enhancements.
On-the-ground ecological programs
Launched and scaled tree planting, invasive species removal, and green stormwater initiatives (including partnerships with organizations like Mile High Youth Corps) to improve biodiversity and resilience along the corridor.
