About GRAND RAPIDS SYMPHONY FOUNDATION

The Grand Rapids Symphony Foundation is the endowment arm of the Grand Rapids Symphony, established to provide long-term financial support for the orchestra’s concert programming, music education and community access initiatives across West Michigan. The Foundation invests donor gifts for long‑term appreciation and, on the recommendation of its trustees, directs an annual distribution (historically a modest percent of earnings) to support the Symphony’s operating budget and programmatic work. As a related/subordinate organization to the Grand Rapids Symphony Society, the Foundation holds a permanently restricted endowment that has provided sustained funding for education, family and accessibility programs and has attracted major local philanthropic support.
