About THE URBAN OUTREACH CENTER OF NEW YORK CITY INC

The Urban Outreach Center of New York City (UOCNYC) is a donor-facing 501(c)(3) community nonprofit founded in 1990 that operates a food pantry, community meals, hygiene and clothing distribution, and social-service referrals focused on East Harlem, the Upper East Side and nearby Manhattan neighborhoods while serving guests from across the five boroughs. Since rebranding as the Urban Outreach Center in 2014, the organization has expanded its services to address hunger, housing instability, and basic-needs barriers with an explicit commitment to equity and dignity for vulnerable New Yorkers.

UOCNYC combines direct material assistance with advocacy and partnerships (including participation in city food-policy conversations) to help clients stabilize and access longer-term supports. In recent years the organization reports substantial scale and continuing community presence, maintaining regular meal programs, an active food pantry, and ongoing outreach and referral work.
