About CHILDREN'S MUSEUM OF NORTHERN COLORADO
The Children’s Museum of Northern Colorado (CMNC) is a regional, nonprofit children’s museum project established to deliver play-based, hands-on learning experiences for children and families across Northern Colorado. CMNC is organized as a 501(c)(3) and governed by a volunteer board of directors from across the region.
After a multi-year planning and capital campaign process (project launched in 2015), CMNC secured a permanent museum site at Loveland Yards in late 2023 and began redesign and build-out work. The museum’s exhibits and programs are being developed for primarily ages 0–10 and their caregivers, with planned galleries focused on water, agriculture, science, music, construction and outdoor play.
Notable achievements
Secured permanent site at Loveland Yards
In late 2023 CMNC purchased and secured a stand-alone building at the Loveland Yards development to be the museum’s home and began redesign and construction planning for a roughly 14,000–16,700 sq ft facility serving the region.
Northern Water major sponsorship
In September 2024 CMNC received a major sponsorship naming the interior water exhibit (a six-figure commitment) to support exhibit construction and water-stewardship programming.
Nutrien sponsorship for agriculture exhibit
In February 2025 CMNC announced a corporate sponsorship to underwrite the museum’s agricultural/growing exhibit, demonstrating private- and corporate-sector support for the capital campaign and exhibit development.
