About ZEELAND EDUCATION FOUNDATION

The Zeeland Education Foundation (ZEF) is the affiliated nonprofit foundation supporting Zeeland Public Schools. Founded in 2005, ZEF raises private funds, manages endowed and designated gifts, and awards teacher, staff, and district grants to expand curricular and enrichment opportunities beyond the regular district budget. ZEF operates a Direct Impact (operating) fund and a Legacy (endowment) fund (managed through the Community Foundation of Holland/Zeeland) and administers scholarship and memorial funds for Zeeland students. In recent years the foundation has maintained active annual fundraising (including the Fowl Play event and Golden Apple recognition), regular grant cycles (including the 2025–2026 grant cycle), and new designated funds created to support student challenges and communication retreats.

Created and maintains the Zeeland Public Schools Education Foundation Legacy Fund (managed with the Community Foundation of Holland/Zeeland) to provide long-term, sustainable support for district programs and scholarships.
