About PROJECT ADVANTAGE

Project Advantage is a Michigan-formed 501(c)(3) nonprofit that owns and operates the Cedar Rock Sportsplex in Cedar Springs, MI. The organization runs and makes available indoor ice and turf facilities for youth and adult programs including local hockey, soccer, AYSO, community leagues, and other recreational and community events.

Since its formal organization in the early 2020s, Project Advantage has focused on sustaining and expanding community access to sports and recreation by combining program delivery (league and tournament rentals, youth teams and clinics) with facility management and fundraising to keep user costs low and maximize community use. The organization operates under a volunteer board and paid operations staff, and in recent years has moved into an active capital and grant-seeking phase to stabilize and improve the sportsplex for the surrounding West Michigan communities.

Project Advantage owns and operates Cedar Rock Sportsplex in Cedar Springs, providing year-round ice and turf space used by local youth and adult leagues, schools, and community organizations.

Secured major state financing (2024)

In 2024 Project Advantage obtained a sizeable SSBCI/Michigan Strategic Fund financing award to support the sportsplex’s capital and operational needs, enabling facility stabilization and planned improvements.

Established sustainable program revenue

The organization transitioned to generating program-based revenue and diversified support through grants and community fundraising, reporting a larger operating scale and recorded revenue in recent fiscal filings.
