About Tomball Education Foundation

The Tomball Education Foundation is an independent, donor-facing 501(c)(3) nonprofit formed by community leaders, parents, local businesses, civic organizations and alumni to support Tomball Independent School District. The foundation was founded in 2017 and is tax-exempt (IRS 501(c)(3) designation processed in 2018).

TEF raises and distributes private dollars for innovative classroom projects, educator grants, student supports and district-wide programs. The foundation runs annual fundraising events (Boots & Bling, eTrain Celebration, State of the District), an employee giving campaign (Donation 4 Innovation), and recent grant rounds have supported STEM, literacy, assistive technology, mental-health supports and outdoor learning across Tomball ISD campuses.

Notable achievements

Record grant distribution (2026)

On January 16, 2026 TEF awarded a record $159,812 in educator grants — funding 45 grants that honored 90 staff members across 19 campuses and one district department to support projects from robotics and outdoor learning to assistive technology and mental-health supports.

Major grant round (2024)

In February 2024 TEF distributed $125,430 in Innovative Learning Grants, the largest grant round to that date, awarding 35 grants and benefiting dozens of teachers and students across multiple campuses.

Donation 4 Innovation (D4I) employee giving program

TEF established the Donation 4 Innovation payroll-deduction campaign to enable Tomball ISD employees to contribute regularly; the program includes donor incentives and has broadened recurring local support for classroom innovation.
