About KE KULA NUI O WAIMANALO

Ke Kula Nui O Waimānalo (KKNOW) is a grassroots, community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in November 2017 to strengthen Waimānalo’s cultural, ecological, and food self-sufficiency. The organization operates culturally grounded programs — including backyard aquaponics, limu (seaweed) restoration, fishpond and shoreline stewardship, Hawaiian medicine (lāʻau lapaʻau) and youth leadership — that grow from needs identified by the local community.

In the last 2–3 years KKNOW has expanded its reach through partnerships with local research and community partners, delivered COVID‑relief and food‑security programming, and scaled program capacity. Recent financial filings show substantial revenue and asset growth that have supported broader program delivery and community collaboration across Oʻahu.
