About Colorado Youth Congress
Colorado Youth Congress (CYC) is a statewide, out-of-school youth leadership organization that works with high-school-aged young people across Colorado to build wellness, learning, and leadership skills and to advance systems-level change on issues such as mental health and racial justice.
CYC operates a one-year paid leadership cohort model (regular evening meetings and biweekly Saturday sessions), runs a statewide Youth Leadership Network to connect youth and adult partners, and is organized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
Notable achievements
Founded and statewide growth
Launched in 2017 and has expanded to a statewide presence with multiple cohorts and an active alumni base across many Colorado communities.
Member supports institutionalized
Built member-centered infrastructure including a $500 member stipend, access to a dedicated wellness fund, and culturally affirming mental-health supports for participants.
Established statewide Youth Leadership Network
Created a formal network to connect youth and adult partners across Colorado to scale youth-led opportunities and influence systems and policy.
