Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation (BLMGNF) is a chapter-based, member-led nonprofit founded in 2013 that supports Black-led movements and community organizations through advocacy, grantmaking, and capacity-building.
The foundation operates internationally (with a primary presence in the United States), centers abolitionist policy goals, and funds programs that advance Black cultural leadership, community safety, and long-term systems change.
Since 2020 BLMGNF has both expanded its grantmaking and faced legal, regulatory, and public scrutiny; in recent years it has continued grantmaking to local Black-led organizations while pursuing legal actions to recover funds and improving governance and reporting.

Since 2020 the foundation reports having distributed significant grant dollars to dozens of Black-led organizations and has publicly posted a list of grantees and partners across multiple program years.
Established national chapter network
Grew into a chapter-based, member-led global network that mobilizes local chapters for protest, policy campaigns, and community programs since its 2013 founding.
Legal action to recover donor funds (2024–)
Initiated litigation in 2024 seeking recovery of tens of millions of dollars it alleges were improperly retained by a former fiscal sponsor; this legal work has been a prominent aspect of the organization’s recent activity.
