About ART FOUNDATION (operating as /, “Slash”)

ART FOUNDATION (EIN 83-1205647) is a legally registered 501(c)(3) organization (filing Form 990-PF) that publicly operates under the name / (Slash). Founded in 2018 by Ana İpek Saygı, Slash is an artist-run exhibition space based at the Minnesota Street Project campus in San Francisco’s Dogpatch, presenting guest-curated and open-call programming.

Slash runs two primary program strands: a Main Gallery that supports Bay Area-based independent guest curators in organizing three-month thematic exhibitions (bringing together local, early-career, and internationally exhibiting artists) and /room/, a small project space for solo projects by emerging local artists selected via open calls. Exhibitions and most public programs are free or low-cost and include publications and public-facing events.

In the last 2–3 years Slash has expanded its funded operations and artist support: it secured general operating support from the California Arts Council (2023–24), planned a slate of exhibitions and public programs spanning 2023–2025, and reported substantial program-related disbursements in recent Form 990 filings that reflect active artist- and curator-focused spending and stipend distribution.
