FAIR PARK FIRST

Fair Park First is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit conservancy dedicated to restoring, revitalizing, and renewing the 277‑acre National Historic Landmark known as Fair Park in Dallas. Its core focus is delivering the Community Park project — reclaiming a 10.5‑acre parking area and converting it into year‑round greenspace, inclusive playgrounds, and community amenities shaped by neighborhood input. After a period of operational transition and third‑party audits, the organization pivoted to a focused park conservancy model and, as of February 25, 2026, operates under a new City of Dallas agreement dedicated to delivering the Community Park. In recent years Fair Park First has led fundraising, community engagement (town halls and public programming), design and capital planning work to move the Community Park from concept to final design and construction readiness. The organization emphasizes partnership with local residents, civic leaders, and philanthropic partners to deliver equitable access to green space, multi‑generational amenities, and inclusive play features for the surrounding South Dallas neighborhoods.
