About SAN JOSE OAKS BASEBALL

San Jose Oaks Baseball (EIN 83-2036538) is a volunteer-run, donor-facing nonprofit youth travel baseball program based in San Jose, California. The organization operates age-group teams (10U through 16U), runs seasonal tryouts, and provides coaching, practices, and tournament play aimed at player development and character-building. Founded out of a local travel team project (Oakridge Astros) and opened to the wider community in 2014, the program has expanded across the South Bay and maintains formal bylaws and a Board of Trustees to govern travel teams and operations. The organization fields teams in regional and national youth baseball circuits and has recent, active season registrations (website lists Summer/Fall 2026 signups beginning May 1, 2026). San Jose Oaks shows ongoing operational activity (team rosters, tournament entries and seasonal schedules visible on multiple youth-baseball platforms) and is listed in public nonprofit databases as a tax-exempt educational organization under EIN 83-2036538 with filings through the 2024 tax year.

Notable achievements

Player Advancement to High School & College

The program reports multiple alumni who advanced to local high school varsity programs and several players who went on to play college baseball; founding-team players from the program progressed to collegiate rosters and at least one participant reached the level of being considered by professional scouts.

Expanded Travel Program and Governance

Since its origins in 2008 and public opening in 2014, San Jose Oaks established a formal board, written bylaws, structured seasonal tryouts, and multi-age travel-team operations (10U–16U), creating an organized pipeline for youth player development across the South Bay.

Sustained Competitive Tournament Presence

San Jose Oaks teams have participated regularly in regional and national youth tournaments and platforms (including USSSA/BigTimer and national event registries), with competitive team records in recent seasons (notably strong showings from upper-age teams during 2024–2025 tournament play).
