About DEDICATED TO AURORA'S WELLNESS AND NEEDS (DAWN Health)
DAWN (Dedicated to Aurora’s Wellness and Needs) is an independent 501(c)(3) free clinic based in Aurora, Colorado that offers no-cost primary and specialty care to uninsured adult residents while serving as an interprofessional training site for health professions students and trainees.
Founded as a student-run clinic in 2015 and incorporated as a tax-exempt public charity in late 2018 (EIN 83-2074214), DAWN has grown into a sustained community partner that combines clinical services, social-service navigation, and workforce training.
In recent years DAWN expanded clinical capacity with a move to the Anschutz Health and Wellness Center (effective March 1, 2023), increased fundraising and program revenue, and continued community engagement and educational programming through 2024–2025.
Notable achievements
Established and sustained free clinic model
Opened in March 2015 as a student-run clinic and sustained continuous operations serving uninsured patients, including through the COVID-19 period.
Independent 501(c)(3) incorporation
Incorporated as an independent tax‑exempt public charity in late 2018 (EIN 83-2074214), enabling expanded fundraising and governance.
Facility expansion (2023) and program growth
Relocated clinic operations to the Anschutz Health and Wellness Center effective March 1, 2023, and reported continued revenue and program growth through FY2024 supporting expanded services.
