About TRACKGIRLZ

TRACKGIRLZ is a Frisco, Texas–based 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by Olympian and coach Mechelle Lewis Freeman to create pathways to opportunity for girls through the sport of track & field. The organization runs performance workshops, development curricula, mentorship programs and small grants that emphasize physical health, mental well-being, leadership and academic success. In recent years TRACKGIRLZ has expanded its footprint with in-person workshopz and clinics across the United States and internationally, and it partners with research and clinical groups to deliver movement-science informed programming. The organization operates as a donor-facing charity (EIN 83-2576207) and uses donations, merchandise and event revenue to fund scholarships, equipment grants and program delivery. TRACKGIRLZ positions sport participation as a vehicle for improved self-esteem, educational outcomes, and lifelong healthy habits, and it centers programming on sisterhood, mentorship and role-model access provided by Olympians and elite coaches.
