About SAN FRANCISCO EARLY LEARNING ALLIANCE

The San Francisco Early Learning Alliance (SFELA) is a donor-facing 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2015 to provide shared back-office services—financial management, enrollment and subsidy billing, data management, and human resources—to community early-learning centers in San Francisco. SFELA was recognized as tax-exempt by the IRS in February 2020 and operates as a management/technical assistance organization that aggregates administrative functions for member child-care providers so those programs can focus on classroom quality and family services. The organization is led by Cheryl Garcia (founding executive director) and serves a network of member centers across the city. SFELA has maintained documented program activity and annual Form 990 filings in recent years; its reported revenues grew to approximately $583k in fiscal year 2024 while continuing to deliver enrollment, billing, and back-office supports to dozens of center sites serving primarily low-income children and families.
