THE NEHEMIAH PROJECT
To stand in the gap and create hope for under-served communities by creating opportunities to access resources like custom-designed lessons and learning that supports individual success.
About THE NEHEMIAH PROJECT
The Nehemiah Project (EIN: 83-4384682) is a U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit that develops free, research-informed curriculum and delivers professional development for organizations serving homeless people, youth in transition, and survivors of human trafficking.
The organization works directly with schools, residential programs, and service providers to design measurable lesson packets (life skills, social-emotional learning, parenting, job readiness) and to train staff so classroom and client outcomes improve. In recent years it has partnered with local school districts and survivor-service organizations to pilot and implement tailored curricula and training.
Notable achievements
Curriculum adopted by survivor-service partners
Worked with survivor-service organizations to develop job-readiness and life-skills curriculum tailored for trafficking survivors, enabling partners to expand immediate programming rather than build curricula from scratch.
Measured classroom impact
Professional development and coaching in partner schools (reported by partner teachers) produced notable gains in student mastery on targeted assessments following implementation of Nehemiah Project instructional strategies.
Organizational milestone: rebrand and public launch
Transitioned from operating as "The Equity Project" to "The Nehemiah Project," expanding outreach to schools, residential programs, and community partners and formalizing operations as a nonprofit (established 2019).
