About Douglas County Pride
Douglas County Pride is a Colorado-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 83-4451080) working from Castle Rock and serving Douglas County and nearby communities. The organization focuses on visibility, safety, and community supports for LGBTQIA+ people and their families.
Programs include recurring youth groups, caregiver support, social meetups, educational outreach, and annual public events such as PrideFest and a youth Rainbow Prom. Over the last 2–3 years the organization has expanded regular support groups and adapted public events to improve safety and access for attendees.
Douglas County Pride partners with local businesses and community groups, maintains active volunteer networks, and runs paid-ticket and free community events that together form its primary fundraising and outreach activities.
Notable achievements
Established regular county-wide Pride events
Created and sustained Douglas County PrideFest as a major local Pride event and community gathering, with consistent sponsor support and volunteer engagement.
Launched recurring youth programming
Built ongoing youth-focused offerings (monthly meetups, High School Art Club, and an annual Rainbow Prom) that have run repeatedly through recent years.
Adapted event safety and continuity
Responded to targeted disruptions in 2023 by revising safety plans, relocating a subsequent PrideFest to a secured venue in 2024, and delivering calmer, well-attended events thereafter.
