About Horizons Colorado at Colorado Academy
Horizons Colorado at Colorado Academy (HCCA) is a tuition-free out-of-school learning program founded in 1998 that provides a six-week summer enrichment program plus year-round supports for students from under-resourced Denver-area communities. Students begin as young as Pre-K and may remain in the program through high school, receiving academics, enrichment, social-emotional supports, swimming, and two daily meals.
In recent years HCCA has sustained and expanded impact: the site serves more than 225 students annually, reports strong year-to-year retention, and has added new Horizons sites in the region (Graland and Montessori School of Denver launched in summer 2024). In summer 2024, program assessments reported measurable academic gains over the six-week session and HCCA continues to operate under Colorado Academy’s 501(c)(3) status (EIN 84-0421874).
