Founded in 1960 and tax-exempt since the early 1960s, Mile High Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse operates publicly under the name Mile High Behavioral Healthcare and delivers substance use disorder and mental health services across the Denver–Aurora area. The organization provides a broad continuum of care including outpatient treatment, residential programs (including specialized residential services for women), adolescent behavioral health, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), peer support, integrated primary care, housing supports and re-entry services for people returning from incarceration. Programs and affiliated initiatives include a Family Preservation Center (Montview), Colfax Community Network sites, Transcend Aftercare, PRIDEvolution, and specialty services such as a ketamine clinic and LGBTQ-focused supports.
