About WESTERN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE
The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) is an NCAA Division I collegiate athletics conference that organizes league competition, championships, and academic and competitive support for its member institutions and student-athletes. The conference operates as a tax-exempt public charity and maintains a headquarters in Arlington, Texas that serves as its central administrative base. In recent years the Conference has overseen significant membership and operational changes, including the reintroduction and stabilization of football through an alliance with the ASUN and an organizational rebrand to the United Athletic Conference effective July 1, 2026. The WAC continues to administer conference policies, championship events, and student-athlete welfare initiatives that support competitive opportunity and academic success across its member institutions. The Conference’s activities include scheduling and championship operations across multiple sports, governance and policy development for member institutions, and programs intended to advance student-athlete welfare, sportsmanship, and academic achievement.
