About NORTH METRO COMMUNITY SERVICES INC.
North Metro Community Services (NMCS) is a Colorado nonprofit and Community Centered Board serving Adams County as the single point of entry for services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities; the agency has operated since the mid-1960s and is a recognized 501(c)(3) organization.
NMCS operates an array of programs — including early intervention, residential supports, adult day and vocational services, supported living, transportation and family support — and serves hundreds of individuals with individualized plans focused on community inclusion and independence.
In the last 2–3 years NMCS has continued program expansion and community partnerships, advanced legislative advocacy work that contributed to system funding improvements, implemented staff-focused benefits and workforce initiatives, and led local projects (including new adaptive equipment and activity programming) to increase participant engagement and quality of life.

Longstanding role as the single point of entry and Community Centered Board for Adams County, coordinating services, eligibility and resource allocation for people with IDD in the region.
State Advocacy Impact
Agency leadership engaged in sustained legislative advocacy that contributed to statewide funding increases and policy work aimed at reducing waitlists and improving provider rates, enabling improved wages and service capacity.
