About Pueblo City-County Library District

Pueblo City-County Library District (PCCLD) is the public library system serving Pueblo County, Colorado, operating a main branch and multiple neighborhood branches that provide lending, digital resources, research services, makerspaces and community programming for residents of the city and county.

In the past 2–3 years PCCLD has focused on digital inclusion and community preservation — expanding a Device Library (Chromebooks, iPads and hotspots), launching and growing digital navigation and makerspace services, expanding seed and tool-lending programs, and establishing a regional digital archiving initiative to help residents preserve family and community history. The district is also actively investing in branch upgrades and community-facing facilities improvements.

Notable achievements

Emergency Connectivity Fund award

A substantial federal Emergency Connectivity Fund grant enabled PCCLD to purchase hundreds of internet-connected devices (Chromebooks, iPads and mobile hotspots) and dramatically expand its Device Library for checkout.

Mellon Foundation Shared Memories grant

A multi‑county grant established permanent and mobile Digital Memory Labs to digitize and preserve family and community archives across southern Colorado, expanding regional access to preservation tools and training.

Branch renovation and service upgrades

Significant renovation projects (including the Patrick A. Lucero branch modernization) refreshed youth/teen spaces, added meeting and AV studio spaces, and improved community access and amenities.
