New Dance Theatre Inc (d/b/a Cleo Parker Robinson Dance)

New Dance Theatre, Inc., doing business as Cleo Parker Robinson Dance (CPRD), is a Denver-based nonprofit dance company and school founded in 1970. The organization operates a professional ensemble, a second company, a youth ensemble, an academy of dance, an international summer institute, and community education and outreach programs. CPRD centers the African diaspora in its repertoire and education work, tours nationally and internationally, and runs year-round classes and school-based programs across a multi-county region. In recent years the organization completed a major capital expansion—the Cleo Parker Robinson Center for the Healing Arts—creating expanded rehearsal, performance, and community space adjacent to its historic Shorter AME site in Five Points. As a long-standing cultural institution, CPRD combines performance, teaching, and community engagement to preserve Black dance traditions, expand access to the arts, and serve intergenerational audiences and students across the Denver region and beyond.
