About COLORADO STATE FIRE FIGHTERS ASSOCIATION
The Colorado State Fire Fighters Association (CSFFA) is a long-established statewide organization that represents and supports Colorado firefighters through training, advocacy, member benefits, and peer support. The association organizes an annual Fire College and other training opportunities intended to improve readiness across career and volunteer departments.
CSFFA is organized as a 501(c)(4) social-welfare/advocacy association (not a tax-deductible 501(c)(3)); it partners closely with the Colorado State Fire Fighters Foundation (CSFFF), a separate 501(c)(3) established to raise tax-deductible funds for training, scholarships, and firefighter family assistance. In recent years the foundation has reported substantial fundraising and direct training support (including sponsoring 1,506 hours of training and allocating funds to the CSFFA Fire College in 2025).

Over a century of service
CSFFA traces its roots back to the early 20th century and has operated for many decades as a statewide association advancing firefighter training, safety, and policy in Colorado.
Established CSFFF (2016)
Founded the Colorado State Fire Fighters Foundation (CSFFF) as a separate 501(c)(3) to receive tax-deductible donations and channel funds into training, scholarships, and firefighter family assistance.
Recent training impact
Through partnership with the foundation, the organization helped sponsor substantial training in 2024–2025 (including over a thousand training hours and direct Fire College funding) and provided firefighter assistance payments and scholarships in that period.
