Colorado Women's Education Foundation
The Colorado Women’s Education Foundation invests in women who are transforming their lives through education – for themselves, their families, and their communities.
About Colorado Women's Education Foundation
Founded in 1976 and recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, CWEF provides scholarships and wraparound supports to adult women (age 25+) across Colorado to help them attain post‑secondary credentials and economic self‑sufficiency.
CWEF has awarded hundreds of scholarships over nearly five decades and in fiscal year 2024–2025 focused on expanding services beyond tuition awards to include mentoring, financial literacy, career supports, and regional outreach into underserved areas.
Notable achievements
2024–2025 cohort impact
Awarded $148,000 to 44 scholars with cohort averages of age 35, 3.75 GPA, $37K annual income, and a reported 90% graduation rate.
Scholarship redesign and growth
Launched a redesigned, equity‑focused scholarship process (100% blind review) that produced a substantial increase in applications and expanded geographic reach across Colorado counties.
Successful major fundraiser (Pathways to Progress)
Held a sold‑out Pathways to Progress fundraiser in April 2025 that materially supported CWEF's operating and scholarship goals for the year.
