About Colorado Association for the Education of Young Children
COAEYC is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit and the Colorado affiliate of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
The organization supports Colorado’s early childhood workforce through affordable and accessible professional development, statewide networking, and advocacy to advance quality and equity in early learning and care.
In the last 2–3 years COAEYC has expanded statewide programming (regional gatherings, recurring PD nights), participated in coordinated advocacy activities with partner organizations, and maintained member-focused supports such as scholarships, on‑demand learning, and discounts for reflective consultation.

Longstanding state affiliate
Serves as Colorado’s affiliate of NAEYC, providing a bridge between national standards and local professional supports across the state.
Sustained statewide programming
Delivered recurring professional development (PD Nights, on‑demand courses) and regional gatherings in recent years to reach educators in both urban and rural communities.
Active member governance
Operates under a volunteer Board of Directors representing diverse geographic areas and roles; conducted a 2024 board candidate/voting process to maintain participatory leadership.
