About Center for the Arts Evergreen
Founded in 1975, Center for the Arts Evergreen (CAE) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) arts center serving Evergreen and the foothills west of Denver. CAE operates a public gallery, rotating exhibitions, classes for all ages, concerts and community festivals to engage residents and visitors in the visual and performing arts.
In recent years CAE has significantly expanded its facilities and programs — completing a major Phase II expansion in June 2024 that increased studio, classroom and community space and added a dedicated ceramics studio and artist-in-residence facilities. CAE also maintains robust outreach and free/low-cost programming (youth camps, teen engagement, seniors and veterans programs) and oversees public-art initiatives including the annual sculpture walk.
Notable achievements
Phase II Facility Expansion (June 2024)
Completed a major expansion that roughly doubled CAE’s usable space, adding a ceramics studio, private artist studios, community classroom and an artist-in-residence studio to support stronger education and community programming.
Merger with Sculpture Evergreen (2023)
Integrated Sculpture Evergreen’s public-art programs into CAE, continuing the longstanding Sculpture Walk and expanding CAE’s role in public-art acquisition and curation across the community.
State Community Revitalization Award
Secured significant state-level revitalization support to advance CAE’s Phase II build-out and community arts infrastructure (award funding designated for the expansion and related community spaces).
