About Pueblo Zoological Society
The Pueblo Zoological Society is the nonprofit manager of the Pueblo Zoo (AZA accredited), operating a 25–30 acre zoological facility in Pueblo City Park that houses 300–420 animals across more than 120 species and serves the Southern Colorado region.
Organized as a 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN 84-0723360), the Society runs visitor programs, education and outreach, conservation partnerships, and fundraising to support animal care, habitat improvements, and community access.
In the last 2–3 years the organization has expanded education programming (including Zoo School and expanded summer camps), continued signature fundraising events, and advanced local and global conservation work focused on species such as red pandas, American bison and African painted dogs.
