About NATIONAL SPORTS CENTER FOR THE DISABLED INC

The National Sports Center for the Disabled (NSCD) is a year-round 501(c)(3) nonprofit that delivers adaptive sports and outdoor recreation programming from its mountain campus at Winter Park Resort and its Front Range Adaptive Program Center in Golden, Colorado. NSCD provides lessons, camps, competitive training, and community programs that serve youth, adults, veterans, and families living with physical, cognitive, developmental, and behavioral disabilities. The organization blends recreation, competitive pathways (including Paralympic training), and scholarships to increase access, independence, and community connection through outdoor sport.

Notable achievements

Opened Front Range Adaptive Program Center

In 2024 NSCD launched a dedicated Adaptive Program Center at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds in Golden, creating centralized storage, classroom and outdoor space for year-round Front Range programs (cycling, climbing, archery, paddling, school outreach and more).

Expanded annual reach (FY2025)

NSCD’s 2025 impact year reported a significant operational scale — serving roughly 2,292 participants across year-round programs with thousands of lessons and tens of thousands of lesson hours and volunteer hours, reflecting growth in participation, scholarships and community engagement.

Wells Fargo Ski Cup fundraising milestone

NSCD celebrated the 50th annual Wells Fargo Ski Cup (Feb 2026) as a major fundraising event, generating six-figure proceeds that support scholarships, equipment and program delivery.
