About SafeHouse Denver, Inc.

Established in 1977, SafeHouse Denver provides a full continuum of care for survivors of domestic and intimate partner violence in the City and County of Denver. It operates an emergency shelter, extended-stay housing, a counseling and advocacy center, and a 24-hour crisis line. SafeHouse Denver maintains a 30-bed emergency shelter (including cribs) and delivers non-residential services — individual counseling, advocacy, support groups, safety planning, and community education — serving hundreds of adults, children, and youth each year. The organization focuses on trauma-informed intervention, prevention through education, and partnership with public and community agencies to improve system responses to domestic violence. In recent years SafeHouse Denver has sustained its shelter capacity and expanded outreach and education efforts, maintaining steady service volumes and continuing to receive local foundation and government support to underwrite shelter operations, counseling, and community programming.
