Kids First Health Care

Founded in 1978 as Colorado’s first school‑based health center, Kids First Health Care operates a network of community and school‑based clinics focused on keeping vulnerable children healthy, in school, and ready to learn. The organization partners with local school districts and community housing partners to deliver integrated medical, behavioral, dental and enrollment services for patients from birth through age 21.

In recent years Kids First has grown its community clinic footprint and services—adding telehealth and expanded behavioral health offerings, opening a new Alto community clinic, and running outreach programs and seasonal clinics. The agency reports serving roughly 4,000 children and providing about 11,000 pediatric visits annually, with over $1.3 million in charitable care and a high proportion of budget directed to client services.
