About Three Birds Alliance

Three Birds Alliance (formerly Gateway Domestic Violence Services) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 84-0815774) founded in 1979 that provides emergency shelter, counseling, crisis response and advocacy for people impacted by domestic violence in Aurora and Adams, Arapahoe and Douglas Counties, Colorado.

The organization operates a trauma‑informed, culturally responsive set of services including a 24/7 crisis hotline, emergency and extended‑stay shelter (including pet‑friendly options), licensed counseling, court advocacy and housing navigation. In 2024 the agency completed a public rebrand from Gateway Domestic Violence Services to Three Birds Alliance to reflect its evolution and future focus.

Primary 24/7 shelter for Aurora/Arapahoe County
