About Pueblo Historical Aircraft Society (Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum)

PHAS operates the Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum at Pueblo Memorial Airport, maintaining one of Colorado’s largest aviation collections across two hangars and outdoor exhibits. The museum preserves military, civilian, and space artifacts and interprets the history of the Pueblo Army Air Base and broader aviation heritage.

Run primarily by volunteers and supported by donations and sponsorships, PHAS provides public access through guided and self-guided tours, school and group programming, restoration workshops, and special events. The organization focuses on hands-on preservation and outreach to inspire interest in aviation, STEM, and local military history.

In the past three years PHAS has completed major restoration work and added significant aircraft to the collection, expanded educational offerings, and continued community-focused programming that serves students, veterans, and aviation enthusiasts.

Notable achievements

UH-1 (Huey) restoration completed

PHAS completed restoration of a Huey gunship, returning the helicopter to museum display condition and supporting living-history interpretation (restoration completed in 2022).

Acquisition of A-10A Thunderbolt II

The museum added an A-10A to the collection and completed its relocation and reassembly on-site (arrived June 2025), a major addition that expanded modern-aircraft interpretation and drew new visitors and sponsors.

Expanded indoor preservation capacity

Through continued hangar operations and fundraising, PHAS has increased indoor exhibit and restoration space to better protect and present its collection, improving long-term preservation and visitor access.
