About Vail Friends of Dance
Vail Friends of Dance (VFOD) is a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Eagle County, Colorado, founded in 1984 to expand access to high-quality dance education and performance opportunities for local youth.
VFOD produces community-facing performances (most notably the annually cast Nutcracker Ballet), provides scholarships and program support for the Vail Youth Ballet Company and Vail Valley Academy of Dance, and presents outreach events that introduce dance to children and families across the valley.
In recent years VFOD has continued its core work—staging Nutcracker productions, funding dancer education and teacher development, and offering free community encounters—while reporting program-focused revenues that reflect a strong emphasis on direct services to youth dancers.
