ASIAN PACIFIC CENTER FOR HUMAN DEVELOPMENT is a U.S. tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization that operates culturally specific behavioral health, education, language and victim-assistance programs for immigrant, refugee and AANHPI communities in Aurora and the broader Colorado region.
In 2022–2024 the organization’s programs were formally integrated into Aurora Mental Health & Recovery’s Cultural Development & Wellness Center to strengthen clinical capacity, sustain adult education and language services, and expand victim-assistance and youth leadership programming.
Core services include outpatient behavioral health (individual, family and group therapy plus psychiatric evaluation), adult education (ESL, GED, citizenship and workforce support), interpreter/translation services through Colorado Language Connection, youth leadership programming, and statewide victim assistance.
Notable achievements
Integration with Aurora Mental Health & Recovery
Completed a formal joining of APCHD programs into Aurora Mental Health & Recovery’s Cultural Development & Wellness Center (announced 2023) to create a stronger, centralized model for refugee and immigrant behavioral health and community services.
Sustained multilingual language services
Colorado Language Connection (a program associated with the organization) provides broad interpretation and translation capacity in dozens of languages, enabling access to health and social services across the region.
Longstanding, culturally congruent care
Decades of continuous service (established circa 1979–1980) as a community-based provider of integrated behavioral health, education and advocacy for AANHPI, immigrant and refugee populations in Colorado.
