About Adaptive Sports Center of Crested Butte Inc.
Adaptive Sports Center (ASC) is a year‑round 501(c)(3) therapeutic recreation organization based in Crested Butte, Colorado that provides adaptive outdoor adventures to people with physical, sensory, and cognitive disabilities and their families.
ASC operates on‑mountain and in the surrounding public lands and outfitting facilities, offering individualized instruction, state‑of‑the‑art adaptive equipment, lodging and support services to make mountain sports and wilderness experiences accessible.
In recent years ASC has scaled its impact—providing thousands of adaptive activities annually, awarding substantial scholarships, partnering with veteran and rehabilitation organizations, and hosting major adaptive sporting events.

Program scale and impact (2023–2024)
During the May 1, 2023–April 30, 2024 fiscal year ASC delivered several thousand activities (5,700+), served close to 1,000 participants, provided substantial scholarship support and logged thousands of volunteer hours, demonstrating large‑scale, year‑round impact.
Hosted Adaptive Mountain Biking World Championships
ASC served as host for the Adaptive Mountain Biking World Championships and produced major competitive and community events that raised visibility for adaptive mountain sports.
Kelsey Wright Building — permanent facility
The organization developed the Kelsey Wright Building as a fully accessible programming headquarters and participant lodging facility, doubling capacity and improving participant experience and service continuity.
