About Crested Butte Nordic Council
Crested Butte Nordic (CB Nordic) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 1987 that operates and grooms an extensive cross-country ski and snowshoe trail network serving Crested Butte and the Gunnison Valley. The organization’s work includes trail maintenance, lessons, equipment rental, community events, and youth programming.
CB Nordic maintains roughly 55 kilometers of groomed trails across multiple town trailheads and operates year-round staff with a larger seasonal team to support grooming, instruction, and events. In recent seasons the organization has expanded programming and sustained strong participation — for the 2024–2025 season CB Nordic issued 2,223 season passes and sold 4,443 day passes while running a broad slate of lessons, races, and community events.
