About HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF PUEBLO, INC.
Habitat for Humanity of Pueblo is the local Habitat affiliate serving Pueblo County, operating homebuilding and neighborhood-improvement programs alongside a ReStore retail operation that supports its mission. The affiliate partners with families, volunteers, schools, government and other community organizations to deliver affordable housing and accessibility projects.
Using Habitat’s standard model of partnership-based homeownership—sweat equity, partner selection based on need and repayment ability, and affordable mortgage terms—HFH Pueblo develops new homes, ramps and community-repair projects while running the ReStore to recycle building materials and fund local programming.
Notable achievements
ARPA-funded workforce housing project (2023)
Awarded local American Rescue Plan Act funds in 2023 to support construction of affordable infill units in Pueblo’s East Side, resulting in multiple newly constructed owner-occupied housing units for households at or below area AMI limits.
Education–build partnership with Pueblo Community College (2023–2024)
Partnered with Pueblo Community College construction students and other local builders to construct a starter home, providing experiential learning for students while adding an affordable home to the community.
Sustained ReStore and local program support
Maintains a locally operated ReStore to generate operating support, recycle building materials and supply affordable home-improvement resources to the community, enabling ongoing homebuilds and accessibility projects.
