A local council of the Navy League of the United States dedicated to supporting, educating, and advocating for the U.S. sea services and their families across the Rocky Mountain West.
About NAVY LEAGUE OF THE UNITED STATES - DENVER COUNCIL
Chartered in 1948, the Denver Council advances the Navy League’s national mission at the local level by supporting active-duty and reserve Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and U.S.-flag Merchant Marine personnel, and by promoting maritime awareness and policy education in the Rocky Mountain region.
The Council sustains morale and readiness through unit adoptions and direct support to shore commands, and invests in youth development by sponsoring Sea Cadet, Navy League Cadet, JROTC and Young Marines units.
In the last 2–3 years the Council has maintained regular membership meetings with service leaders and subject-matter speakers, continued its adopted-unit and youth-program support, and organized community events — including planning a Navy Ball to mark the U.S. Navy’s 250th birthday in October 2025.
Notable achievements
Adopted units program
Sustained formal adoptions of multiple ships and shore commands (including surface, submarine and shore units), providing ongoing morale and support activities for service members.
Ongoing youth support
Continued multi-year sponsorship and program support for Sea Cadet and JROTC units in the region, helping develop leadership and maritime skills for local youth.
Regional ceremonial and community events
Organized and hosted public events and speaker programs; collaborated with regional military commands to plan large-scale celebrations such as the Navy Ball to commemorate the Navy’s 250th birthday in October 2025.
