To promote and improve the quality of life for all residents of Aurora, Colorado by providing directed funding, grants and sponsorships to municipal programs and local community partners.
About Spirit of Aurora
Founded by Aurora citizens in 1989, Spirit of Aurora is a resident-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit that partners with city departments and community organizations to support programs that enhance public safety, arts, recreation, health and basic needs across the city.
Operating with a volunteer board and in-kind support from the City of Aurora, Spirit of Aurora directs donor contributions to specific municipal initiatives so that 100% of donations go to programs and services chosen by donors.
Over recent years the organization has continued active grantmaking and program support — including mobile food distributions, youth programming and grants to local cultural and public-safety initiatives — to address emerging community needs.

Longstanding municipal partnership
Sustained partnerships with the City of Aurora since its founding in 1989 that enable directed funding to municipal programs with in-kind city support and volunteer governance.
Support for public-safety youth programming
Underwrites and helps operate Camp Spark+ — an immersive summer program designed to introduce middle and high school girls to fire service skills and leadership.
Wide-ranging community grantmaking
Has provided financial support to local cultural institutions and community initiatives (examples include support for the Aurora Fox Arts Center and public-facing outreach programs) to sustain local services and events.
