About Colorado Association of REALTORS® Foundation
The Colorado Association of REALTORS® Foundation (CAR Foundation) is the philanthropic arm of the Colorado Association of REALTORS®, organized as a 501(c)(3) to support housing access, homeownership education, and housing-related disaster relief across Colorado.
The Foundation combines legacy programs (the CAR Educational Foundation and the Colorado Association of REALTORS® Housing Opportunity Foundation) into one grantmaking and community-engagement entity that partners with local nonprofits, REALTOR® members, title companies and other stakeholders to fund housing solutions and emergency housing assistance.
In recent years the Foundation has continued grantmaking and disaster-response work statewide — including administering large, targeted disaster relief distributions and supporting local housing-focused nonprofits — while also running annual fundraising and member-engagement campaigns.
Notable achievements
Administered large disaster relief distribution (Boulder County, 2022)
Partnered to administer a multi-million-dollar REALTORS® Relief Foundation grant to provide housing-related assistance to households displaced by the December 2021 Boulder County fires, offering direct aid for mortgage or housing costs to eligible victims.
Long-term impact and investment
Over multiple decades the Foundation (and its predecessor entities) has invested millions of dollars in Colorado housing and homeownership programs, supporting tens of thousands of Coloradans through grants and services.
Local grant awards to community nonprofits
Regularly awards targeted grants to Colorado community organizations (examples include housing and basic-needs nonprofits) to support rental/mortgage assistance, resident services and emergency supports across the state.
