About Denver Children's Advocacy Center

Denver Children’s Advocacy Center (DCAC) is a Denver-based 501(c)(3) child advocacy center that serves as the multidisciplinary hub for investigations, assessment, and healing for children who have experienced or witnessed abuse or violence. Founded in 1995, DCAC coordinates forensic interviews, victim advocacy, medical partners, law enforcement, prosecutors, and mental-health clinicians to reduce trauma and improve outcomes for children.

DCAC operates a Rapid Response team available 24/7, provides evidence-informed mental health assessment and therapy, and delivers prevention and outreach programming in schools and community settings. Recent organizational activity includes expanded outreach and fundraising campaigns (Hope Starts Here / Swing for Hope) and measurable service delivery reported for 2024 and 2025, reflecting continued growth in prevention, interview, and treatment services.

Notable achievements

Established multidisciplinary hub (since 1995)

DCAC has served as Denver’s coordinated child advocacy center since the mid-1990s, formalizing multidisciplinary collaboration among police, prosecutors, child welfare, medical providers, and mental-health professionals to reduce retraumatization and improve case outcomes.

Service scale and impact (2024)

In 2024 DCAC reported reaching thousands through prevention and direct services: more than 5,300 children reached by outreach/prevention, 843 forensic interviews conducted, and approximately 614 clients served with assessments, case management, or mental-health treatment.

Successful fundraising and community campaigns (2024–2025)

Recent campaigns and signature events (including Swing for Hope and Hope Starts Here) raised significant community funds and awareness during 2024–2025, helping to expand prevention programming and subsidize forensic interviews and therapy for children in need.
