About Thornton Arts, Sciences and Humanities Council (TASHCO)

TASHCO is a city-appointed 501(c)(3) nonprofit board and arts council that partners with the City of Thornton’s Arts & Culture division to plan cultural programming, steward public art, administer grant funding, and support local arts education and exhibitions.

Founded as a board in 1991 and operating as a tax‑exempt nonprofit since the early 1990s, TASHCO manages community festivals, the OZ Gallery exhibition program, the Thornton Arts Academy classes and camps, and public art initiatives across the city.

In the last few years TASHCO has supported expanded public-art installations (including traffic-box murals and new sculptures and murals installed since 2020), launched new family/STEAM-focused programming, and continued signature community celebrations such as Juneteenth and Dia de los Muertos.
