About ROCKY MOUNTAIN MUTUAL HOUSING ASSOCIATION INC

Rocky Mountain Mutual Housing Association, doing business as Rocky Mountain Communities (RMC), is a Denver-based nonprofit that develops, owns, and manages affordable and supportive housing across Colorado while delivering resident-centered services to promote stability and opportunity. Founded in 1992, RMC operates and manages a portfolio of properties statewide and provides on-site resident services (SERV model) that include community navigation, workforce and family supports, and partnerships with behavioral health and supportive service providers.

Notable achievements

Opened The Commons (2023)

Launched The Commons in Colorado Springs in April 2023, a 50-unit permanent supportive housing community serving veterans, families and individuals experiencing unstable housing; 16% of units are reserved for veterans.

Acquisition & City partnership to support House1000 (2023)

Closed on the former DoubleTree hotel in Denver in November 2023 (≈300 rooms) and leased the building to the City and County of Denver to support the House1000 initiative, bringing hundreds of people indoors and expanding emergency shelter capacity.

Large statewide portfolio and expanded services

RMC owns and operates more than 1,200 apartments across Colorado and reported serving over 2,500 residents (including 900+ children); in 2023 it secured multiple grants and PSH management contracts to expand resident services and supportive-housing management.
