About Fort Collins Habitat for Humanity
Fort Collins Habitat for Humanity is a local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International and a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit that builds, renovates, and preserves affordable homeownership in the Fort Collins area through volunteer labor, donated materials and low‑cost mortgages.
The affiliate runs a ReStore retail operation to fund building work, operates education and partnership programs (including a long-running Geometry in Construction school partnership), and is currently developing Harmony Cottages — a planned 48‑home, energy‑efficient neighborhood with solar partnerships. Recent organizational milestones include Service Enterprise certification (2023) and rolling out CAPABLE aging‑in‑place projects (first 19 projects completed in Summer 2024).

Certified as a Service Enterprise in February 2023, recognizing the affiliate’s strategic volunteer engagement practices and placing it among the top organizations nationally for volunteer program performance.
CAPABLE program rollout (2024)
Completed the first 19 CAPABLE aging‑in‑place client projects in Summer 2024, providing home modifications such as grab bars, lighting improvements and shower aids to support senior independence.
Harmony Cottages development
Launched Harmony Cottages, a 48‑home, energy‑efficient neighborhood (estimated to house ~144 people) with solar partnerships and community green space — the affiliate’s largest development to date.
