Expeditionary Learning School Board Of Cooperative Educational Services is the Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) that governs and operates the Rocky Mountain School of Expeditionary Learning (RMSEL), a K–12 public school of choice in Denver. The school implements the expeditionary learning / Outward Bound–inspired model focused on project-based learning, character development, and community engagement. RMSEL enrolls roughly 400 K–12 students drawn from multiple Denver-area districts and operates in active partnership with local districts and community organizations. In the last 2–3 years the organization has continued full K–12 operations, maintained measurable student outcomes (including a reported 100% graduation rate for its high school cohort) and delivered sustained community service and experiential learning programming.
