COLORADO CATTLEMENS AGRICULTURAL LAND TRUST

The Colorado Cattlemen’s Agricultural Land Trust (CCALT) is a Colorado-based land trust that partners directly with ranching and farming families to protect working agricultural lands, water resources, wildlife habitat, and scenic open space through permanent conservation easements and other stewardship tools. Since its founding in 1995, CCALT has worked with hundreds of landowners across Colorado and reports conserving more than 800,000 acres in perpetuity and partnering with 400–500+ families. The organization maintains active regional staff and outreach programs and has expanded operations in recent years, including a new headquarters office in Lakewood (opened September 2025) and ongoing conservation projects and landowner assistance programs through 2024–2026. In addition to easement transactions, CCALT has developed landowner resources and targeted relief and resiliency initiatives for agricultural families (including wildfire relief awards and pilot stewardship funds), and it regularly collaborates with other conservation organizations and public partners to support working lands conservation statewide.
